Job overview
The estimator will be based at the Coventry office and will provide estimating support to FPM.
The role will suit candidates who wish to pursue a career in estimating in a business that is growing. The estimator will become integral within the central hub of FPM’s operations.
The successful applicant will be required to provide estimates and complete tenders for our existing clients whilst also working on new client projects.
The estimator will be involved in scoping of the works and client negotiations.
The role will involve a mixture of office based workflow and meeting with clients to win new business. You will be reviewing and responding to tender enquiries, gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers. The role will also involve analysing risk and submitting accurate, commercially viable quotations.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be self -sufficient and have a pro -active approach to their role, able to work under pressure and to have initiative to work autonomously in a supportive working environment.
The successful candidate will have proven relevant experience. You will be required to travel to sites and meetings and as such a UK driving license is essential.
Ideally you will be academically qualified in a relevant discipline with either: BTECs, A levels, an HNC, HND or bachelor degree in an industry-relevant subject, which can include civil, structural or mechanical engineering, quantity surveying and construction management.
Membership of a relevant professional body may be beneficial for your career prospects.
